Artificial Intelligence: Fact or Fiction?
Blade Runners 2049, the sequel of the classic Blade Runners, is out in the cinemas. Many of us can’t wait to watch it. The original Blade Runner was released in 1982, exploring at that time our fascination but also fear, with futuristic worlds, where AI as intelligent robots dominates and its impossible to distinguish who is who in the battle between good and evil.
When it comes to Artificial intelligence (AI), the film industry gets a number of things wrong, mostly to scare us. But, what is artificial intelligence? Are intelligent machines dangerous? Can a machine have a mind, consciousness and mental states in exactly the same sense that human’s beings do? Can a machine intentionally cause harm?
